Akron's School Resource Officers presented the Senior Traffic Safety Seminar which included a presentation by Robin Deubler for STOP DWI, an impaired driving simulation exercise and a crash scene demonstration. Later in the day, Beth Moses, a trauma nurse at ECMC, described many of the emergency trauma cases she has witnessed and compelling examples of what not to do. Mike Smith from Niagara International Transportation Technology Coalition (NITTEC) talked about distracted driving. The second annual event gives seniors valuable information intended to help them make safe choices as either drivers or riders. The Akron-Newstead Community Coalition was also on hand to supply informative literature regarding drug and alcohol addiction.
